First Priority

First Priority is a ministry committed to engaging the local church to take the hope of Christ to every student within Johnston and Wake County Schools and beyond. We accomplish this mission through First Priority clubs on each campus; elementary, middle and high school.

Our clubs are student-initiated and student-led but are also volunteer-supported and encouraged. These student leaders are trained, equipped, and empowered to not only lead their club but to share the Gospel with their peers. We are encouraging them to live out The Great Commission every day in their school. Once a student begins a relationship with Jesus for the first time, it is our goal to get them plugged into the local church for discipleship. Partnership with the local church is crucial.

Currently, First Priority is on 35 campuses in Johnston County and 6 in Wake County. There is great potential for those numbers to increase drastically when church members partner with us to support these students! We need volunteers to serve with clubs and students, prayer warriors to help us remove obstacles in Jesus' name, and financial supporters to assist us in continuing to provide Bibles, promotional materials, training, and curriculum for the clubs.

So far, during the 2023/2024 school year we have seen 141 students begin a relationship with Jesus! We have also trained over 150 student leaders and given away almost 1000 Bibles! While we do not put our faith in these numbers, we do see them as fruit and tremendous reason to praise the Lord and continue His work!

Toronto. Cuba. Crossings Missions
Cuba

The Church at Clayton Crossings took its first international mission trip to the island of Cuba in 2013 and hasn’t looked back! Since then our church has been traveling to Cuba multiple times a year, and every time our partnership and mutual affection grow deeper and stronger. We are directly partnered with two churches located in the cities of Ciego de Avila and Bayamo, which we have nicknamed “Clayton Crossings South.” Our mission in Cuba is no different than the mission of our church, “Doing whatever it takes to help people find and follow Jesus.” We accomplish that mission primarily through supporting and encouraging the local Cuban churches. Specifically, we support them by bringing essential resources like medicines, toiletries, Bibles, shoes, and ministry supplies. We also support their evangelistic outreach efforts through VBS programs and neighborhood evangelism.

Going to Cuba is a life-changing opportunity to learn through the experience of another culture about who God is, and how He has gifted you to serve His mission in your community and around the world. To go with us you’ll need; a valid passport, attend our church, and be willing to work to support the mission to do whatever it takes to help people find and follow Jesus. Children as young as 14-years-old are welcome to go as long as they are accompanied by a parent or responsible guardian. No experience is necessary, you only need to say "YES" to the command to go into the world to make disciples of all nations!"
