Joel Rowland has been happily married to Amber for ten years and is daddy to a two-year-old named Lincoln. After losing his parents in an automobile accident to a drunk driver in 2010, and taking in his 16-year-old sister, Joel knew he must spend his life sharing the hope he found in Christ. Joel has a heart for uniting the body of Christ strategically to reach teenagers in the community with the Gospel. He has served in student and local missions ministry for over 10 years as lead pastor of a church plant, a prison chaplain, a representative on a county drug court, leader of a coalition of churches, and a mentor in high schools. He currently spends most of his days empowering students, uniting local churches, and inspiring the community to reach the campuses for Christ. In addition to his work at The Church @ Clayton Crossings, Joel is the area director of First Priority, an organization whose mission is to equip students to lead as missionaries on their school campus. His hope is to see First Priority in every school in Johnston County.
Joel enjoys playing music with his wife Amber, spending time with Lincoln, and watching college basketball. His favorite verse developed out the love God showed him when he lost his parents: No, I will not abandon you as orphans, I will come to you. John 14:18
